What is the "Take A Fruit Break" Campaign?
The "Take A Fruit Break" Campaign is an advertising campaign developed by Ekaya, Inc., our 501(c)3 educational nonprofit organization, to advertise fruit to kids on TV, radio and everywhere possible. Radio Disney has aired our spots on the radio in NYC. Our goal is to have celebrities donate their time to be in our commercials promoting fruit, and to purchase $20,000,000 of air time on TV each year to promote fruit to kids and parents (which is approximately what is spent on a junk food ad campaign). Our campaign philosophy is to reach kids by making fruit as cool as it really is. Instead of telling them that it is healthy, which is a turn-off to most kids, we will show how delicious and satisfying fruit is. Many junk food ads use pictures of fruit to make their products seem appealing. Fruit is what the body naturally craves. All we have to do is put the right images and messages in front of people and they will remember what they truly want!
